Conversion Funnel

You might say

Turn visits, sign-up starts, profile submissions, and completions into a funnel to find the largest drop-off.

A sequence of user counts and conversion rates that locates drop-off from entry to a target outcomeOut of 1,000 visitors, 620 may start sign-up, 310 submit details, and 280 finish. A funnel shows how many remain at each step. Mismatched event definitions, time windows, or user scopes can make the shape misleading.

How a conversion funnel provides reliable clues

Define steps and the success outcome: Each step needs a real trackable action and an order that matches the question.

Use one user and time definition: Deduplication, entry rules, and observation windows change the result and must remain consistent.

Location is not cause: A funnel shows where to investigate; interface, rule, technical, and motivation causes still need evidence.

You can say this to an AI Agent

Build a sign-up conversion funnel from this real event data: visit, start sign-up, submit profile, and complete sign-up. First verify each event definition, deduplication method, time window, and user scope. Then calculate counts, step conversion, and drop-off. Identify the largest loss, but keep possible causes as questions to validate. Do not invent user data or directly remove interface content.
