Event Tracking

You might say

I want to know whether anyone actually clicks this button.

A record of a page action sent to an analytics tool when the action occursTo count clicks on Start trial, a developer can create a start_trial event in the click handler and add parameters such as the page source. A click means the event was triggered; analytics code must still send it and the platform must receive it before it appears in a debug or real-time view. A received event does not mean the aggregated report is complete.

This is a teaching simulation: a click triggers an event, and the controls advance it to sent and simulated receipt. Real SDKs usually send according to configuration; seeing a test event in a debug view checks the path but does not mean aggregate reports have updated.

What tracking goes through

Place events at key points: Write one line of recording code at key actions like button clicks and form submits, naming the action.

Records are sent when actions happen: After a click triggers an event, the analytics SDK handles sending; receipt in a debug view is evidence about the test path, not proof that reports are complete.

Repeat the check, then reset it: Click several times to see whether records follow the actions, then clear the test state and repeat. The manual send and receipt controls here are teaching simulations, not a claim that real SDKs require manual sending.

You can say this to an AI Agent

Add a start_trial event and page_source parameter to the Start trial button. For verification, click it repeatedly and check event trigger, send, and receipt in the debug view separately; reset the test state and run it again. Explain what the local simulation and real analytics SDK/platform each do. Do not change the button's appearance.

You need the click count for Start trial. How do you check tracking from the action through platform receipt?

A. Count clicks by watching the test page and enter them in the reportB. Count page views and use them as the button click countC. Configure an event and source parameter, click repeatedly, send the events, and verify receipt in a debug view
