Redirect

You might say

The old event link should take people to the new page instead of showing a 404.

A redirect is a mechanism that sends a visit from one URL to another URL.When a product is renamed, an old link can automatically lead to its matching new address; after sign-in, a page may also return someone to what they meant to view. A redirect changes the destination URL. It is not merely an in-page view change, and unrelated old content should not all be sent to the home page.

REQUESTING

/old-pricing

GET/old-pricingpending

What a redirect changes

The request reaches the old address first: After a browser visits an old URL, a server or hosting platform returns a new destination address; the browser requests it and the address bar usually reflects the new URL.

A destination should truly correspond: Page migrations, domain changes, and post-login return paths need a clear destination. When the content matches, people keep the context they came for.

You can say this to an AI Agent

Redirect the old `/pricing-2025` address to `/pricing`, handling only this confirmed matching pair. Then visit the old address directly and confirm the address bar reaches the new URL, the page is not a 404, and there is no redirect loop.
